Southeastern Illinois College (SIC) is thrilled to announce the signing of John Holste and Brayden Hahn from Dieterich High School to the Falcon Archers, the college’s esteemed archery team.

John Holste, an active participant in FFA, Baseball, Trap, Basketball, and the Automotive Club during high school, also volunteers at the Effingham Humane Society and works on his family farm. John will be majoring in Diesel Technology at SIC. He is a member of the Blaze Orange Trap Team and brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the Falcon Archers.

"I am very excited to join the archery team and learn new things," said John Holste.

Brayden Hahn, who has been involved in FFA and the trap team at Dieterich High School, also participates in the construction trades program in Effingham and currently works for James Backhoe Service. Brayden is also a member of the Blaze Orange Trap Team and will be majoring in the Outfitter Wildlife Management Program and Criminal Justice. His career goal is to become a Conservation Police Officer.

"I am excited to shoot on the archery team down at SIC. I am also excited to be closer to Shawnee so I can have the opportunity to hunt the public land. I will miss the home-cooked meals and family, but overall I am excited to join the team," expressed Brayden Hahn.

Ricky Sauls, the coach of the Falcon Archers, shared his enthusiasm for the new additions, stating, "These two are going to be a lot of fun. They are new to competitive archery but not new to competition. They are both very accomplished in competitive trap, so the transition will be easy for them. I can tell they will both be a big part in bringing the new members of the archery team together. I loved seeing the excitement on Brayden and John’s face when I was telling them about the archery team and the tournaments we will be participating in throughout the year. I am not sure who was more excited, the boys or their families."

SIC is excited to welcome John Holste and Brayden Hahn to the Falcon Archers and looks forward to their contributions to the team’s success in the upcoming season.
